Farm & Wilderness camps offer diverse activities and unique schedules, with options like immersions, morning rotations, choice activities, and a mix of trips and camp activities.
Each camp offers a unique selection of activities and distinct rotation schedules. For detailed information regarding the activities available, please visit the individual camp pages on our website.
How do campers navigate these diverse options?
At Tamarack Farm, prior to the beginning of the session, campers enroll in one of five immersions: Environmental Sustainability, Carpentry and Construction, Artists in Residence, Agriculture and Homesteading, or the Counselor Apprenticeship Program. Campers will engage in their chosen immersion for the entire session and will have the opportunity to present their learnings or creations at the conclusion of the three weeks. Depending on their immersion and level of interest, full session campers may remain in the same immersion throughout the summer or select one for the first session and a different one for the second. Mornings are primarily dedicated to immersions, while afternoons alternate between additional immersion activities and choice activities.
At Timberlake and Firefly Song, campers participate in a morning rotation of activities, followed by afternoons where counselors facilitate choice activities ranging from making cheese to canoeing on the lake. Participation in activities throughout the day is mandatory; however, there are always plenty of choices is a designated rest hour between lunch and afternoon sessions.
Saltash Mountain campers dedicate approximately half of their sessions to trips, complemented by a diverse range of activities during their time at camp. Campers can select from various activities in creative arts, music, swimming, sports, and work projects. Evenings are filled with all-camp games in the field, contra dances, and more.
